Richard Arnesen Jr. was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, but lived most of his life in eastern North Carolina. In November 1993, while he was going to school at NCSU in Raleigh NC, he met Mindi Hardwick from Lancaster, Ohio over a BBS that was quite popular at the time. Mindi was going to Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio and her and her friends had just discovered this BBS and were anxious to meet new people. We became fast friends (although we will both tell you that we got on each other's nerves at first). Our similar belief systems and the passion we had for those beliefs caused an instant connection between us, and quickly that friendship blossomed into something more.
By January we were making plans to meet one another in person on Valentine's Day weekend and we were spending numerous hours talking over the internet and running up our phone bills. We had quickly fallen in love and got engaged during that Valentines trip. We were married on July 31 of that year. We lived in the Raleigh, NC area for 3 years after we were married before we decided to move up to Ohio to be near Mindi's parents and family.
Over the years Richard has worked at many prominent Fortune 500 companies where he has gained a lot of experience and learned a variety of skills. Currently he works at a major pharmaceutical distribution company where he is well respected and quite happy with his job . He is also the Vice President of Business Development for Shrapnel Games in his spare time. Richard has been heavily involved in the Computer Gaming Industry in one capacity or another for many years.
Mindi has had a variety of jobs over the years including everything from Department Manager for a retail store to Afternoon Daycare Supervisor for a church based daycare. Like Richard, her real love is computers and gaming. Right now she is working for Shrapnel Games as Customer Support Manager and Beta Test Coordinator. However, more important than the work she gets paid for is her volunteer work. She has felt a calling for the Pro-Life Ministry since her teenage years and is currently the President of Fairfield County Right to Life, a chapter of Ohio Right to Life. Richard also has a passion for the Pro-Life Movement and serves as Vice President of the chapter.
Richard and Mindi have one dog, a Cocker Spaniel named Jax and two cats, Porschia and Midnight. They currently reside in Lancaster, OH.
