Brace Yourselves!
So today was a pretty full day for us and in part because we are bracing for a big winter storm. We are expected to get 4-8 inches of snow within the next 24 hours and winds of 30-40 miles an hour. What does that mean? Well there’s no need to shovel your driveway because it will just blow back over and forget going anywhere because you won’t be able to see to get there. So today we had to go to Newark because my mom had to have outpatient surgery to help facilitate her dialysis. It was basically two seperate procedures. Mom went throught the surgery just fine; unfortunately one of the procedures didn’t work out right so they don’t know what exactly their next step is going to be.
So we left the hospital, had a late lunch with my parents and did some shopping at a great little used game store in Newark. Richard and I both picked up a game and then headed back to Lancaster to do our grocery shopping. Of course with the projected snow fall and weather conditions there were tons of people at the grocery store and we were lucky just to get a cart. We struggled through the store and the long lines before we finally got home, put away the groceries and did as much shoveling in our driveway as possible so we have a little less tomorrow to have to fight with. So we’re ready for the storm and glad to be home and out of the cold weather from today. We have plenty of food and candles if needed and are ready for whatever mother nature has to dish out. But hey, I can think of worse things than being stranded at home with your spouse in a storm. ![]()
