I just wanted to take the time to sing the praises of my favorite worship album Adoration: Worship Album by the Newsboys. I truly love this CD and it is consistently the one CD that is in or near my computer at all times. I love every single song on this album and it’s so easy to get wrapped up in- before you even realize it, you’ve listened to the whole CD. In fact, I often listen to this CD over and over for hours (Richard can attest to this, lol). It relaxes me and immediately helps me focus on positive things and on worshiping God even when I’m having a bad day. It’s great Christian contemporary worship and has a great mix of both fast and slow songs. I highly recommend this album for any Christian to purchase.

Well today Richard and I celebrated Valentines day, we watched a couple romantic movies this afternoon that were on TV, I fixed a romantic dinner which we ate by candlelight and then we turned out the lights and watched The Notebook. To tell you the truth I hadn’t paid much attention to this movie but when we decided to do Valentine’s in this year I went looking for what movies had recently come out on DVD. The Notebook had great customer reviews even though it didn’t necessarily have the best critic reviews and since I often don’t agree with the critics I went with the customer reviews and we rented it. I’m very glad we did, it was a great movie-we laughed and we cried. The ending is a real tear-jerker and I advise anyone looking for a great romantic movie to watch with your spouse to RENT THIS MOVIE.

I’ve never been a huge fan of popcorn (Richard loves it), but recently I am starting to change my mind. We’ve always had a hot air popcorn popper which normally means you have to add more butter to the popcorn or else it ends up dry. We lost a part off of the popper so I decided to buy a new popper but not the same old style hot air popper. I did a little research and came up with the West Bend Popcorn Popper which allows you to use a little oil to pop the kernels and it stirs them during the popping making almost every single kernel pop.

Well we’ve used it about a half dozen times in the last couple of weeks and I have to say I am impressed with this little machine. It’s easy to make the popcorn, pops relatively quickly and is easy to clean. The machine has a dome lid that doubles as a bowl for the popcorn and holes in the top that you can use to melt butter; they butter will slowly drip into the popcorn and coat it while it is popping and stirring.

When I researched the machine I found a great recipe for kettle corn from one of the reviewers on amazon.com. I absolutely love this recipe and it’s extremely easy to make. It does make the bowl a little harder to clean but soaking it in hot soapy water seems to work well. One word of caution I will give to anyone who buys one though is to make sure you don’t tighten down the rotator arm too tight or it can scratch the bottom of the cooking surface and cause some Teflon to come off. All in all I would say this is a great little popcorn popper and highly recommend it to anyone who likes popcorn. For 30 bucks you really can’t go wrong and Richard is very happy to be getting popcorn more often!

We’ve been wanting to do a personal website for quite some time now but other web projects have always taken first priority until finally we said enough is enough, we NEED this site! Why do we NEED this site? We need this site because we want to be able to vent..er, um…blog. Yeah, that’s it….blog. No really, in all seriousness we are very excited about this endeavor. We created this site so that family, friends and anyone else who wants to wander in can gain a little insight into our world. We have friends and family scattered across the nation and in some cases across the globe and don’t get to see them near as much as we would like. We are hoping that everyone will be able to get to know us better through this site; much more than a yearly Christmas letter and family vacations. So welcome to our world! We hope you stop by, put your feet up and stay a while. Just remember, this is our house and even though you might not agree with all the conversation in our house, please don’t stain the carpet…it’s new.
